drawing challenge: spider/web

two years ago I was participating in an exhibition in an old railway station. this railway line was shut down a few  years before. I spend much time there and took many black and white pictures, two collages and a little installation. my main idea was that the trains, the rails, the station buildings were cobwebby (I hope, it's the right word in english! in german: eingesponnen).

some of my photos

collage, 24 x 30 cm
pictures, old railway signs, acryl, toy loco, sheeps's wool

little installation with vintage stool, stones from the tracks, sheep's wool, toy loco

detail of my exhibition room

you know that I'm collecting many things for my artwork. in one of my boxes there are many different webs from the  packing of fruits and vegetables.

all these webs can be related to the wonderful art of work of spiders.

today natural phenomena build the bases for many inventions - this we called bionics.

my material for a new art box

categorisation of webs
7 x 21 cm

collage "fruits and vegetables"
16 x 16 cm

and finally this great man wishes you a wonderful weekend:

for more spiders, spidermen and webs take a look to the talented and lovely renilde - she is our host for this wonderful theme!

now I'm going to denmark for one week!
enjoy your days!

Mano you KILL me. You nail me to the spot. Every time!! Your installations and artwork and photography and artistic 'sense' of things just astonish me. You are an awesome artist. Love the box of netting that are neatly categorized. This reminded me of an installation that my friend told me about: someone had pressed leaves [a lot of them] and they were flat as paper, and put into wooden file drawers from an old library and each drawer had the one species of tree. So a whole drawer maybe had maple of some sort, and another birch, or whatever. I like the idea of making 'art' order from the disorder of things. Love your work, as always. Talk soon, Norma, xo

Mano, amazing post! Your installation: really haunting.
Categorization of webs - brilliant! Have a wonderful trip to Denmark (my grand father moved to United States at age 14 from Bornholm, so I have ancestral roots there). -sus

Thank your for your pictures from the railway station. They are sad, and beautiful. I like the abondoned, the decayed railway stations, and your pictures are stunning. Have a nice week in Denmark!
