I collected driftwood since I was at the beach for the first time. I found it at the coasts of the baltic sea, mainly in denmark and at the atlantic ocean in brittany / france.
in the past years I built many objects and sculptures out of driftwood:
and I love to paint on driftwood - mainly signs and crosses, black and white

AntwortenLöschenToll, deine Treibholz-Skulpturen und die schwarz-weißen gefallen mir am besten. Bei deinen neusten Werken weiß man nicht genau ob Zielscheibe oder Auge, aber das macht es gerade faszinierend.
AntwortenLöschenBei Treibholz hab ich die gleiche Veränderungs-Hemmschwelle wie bei allen hölzernen Dingen, aber bei Dir gefäält mir das Ergebnis einfach prima. Also sollte ich doch etwas mutiger werden...
Meine Treibholz-Arie wir erst Morgen gesungen, denn heute ist noch der Himmel dran und der konnte ausnahmsweise nicht warten. :-)

Wunderschöne Sammlung und was du daraus machst, ist einzigartig. Wenn du kommst, sollten wir mal bei Hanne vorbeischauen, sie macht herrliche Vögel aus Keramik und Treibholz, wollte ich erst zeigen, dann habe ich noch was eigenes gefunden! Liebe Grüße und schönes Wochenende.

AntwortenLöschenganz hin und weg bin ich immer von deiner kunst, liebe mano. hab dein treibholz genossen und wäre gern dabei gewesen. irgendwie ists an mir dann doch vorbeigeschwommen...wenn mirs nochmal begegnet, fisch ichs raus und zeig es dir;)warum ich momentan ein bissel neben der spur laufe, weiß ich auch nicht so recht, aber es wird einen sinn ergeben...irgendwann. "die wand" leg ich dir trotzdem ans herz - der fil spielt nicht nur im dunkeln und es gibt so viel zu entdecken- besonders danach;)

Your art speaks in a silent yet thunderous voice. I mean it is quietly powerful. Those totems are just so wonderful. I especially like that you can tell the story about where the driftwood came from. That's just exciting to me. It gives it a sense of place on our planet. I am in love with the little bits that have a cross painted on them. Your recent work featuring a circle (eternity to my mind) has such great texture. Gosh I'd love to see these in person. Awesome wonderful work that you do Mano!! Hugs, Norma, x
